1. Scope
This Refund Policy applies to paid subscriptions, points-related purchases, AutoFigure-Edit credit cards, activation codes, and other digital service entitlements for DeepScientist.
2. Baseline policy
Except where required by applicable law, all payments are non-refundable once the billing period starts, points are granted to your account, an activation code is redeemed, or a digital service entitlement is delivered.
Because DeepScientist provides digital services, AI model calls, generated outputs, credits, and activation-code entitlements, refund review is based primarily on backend ledger records, payment records, activation records, and task settlement records.
Where applicable law requires a different mandatory refund, cancellation, or consumer-protection rule, that mandatory rule will control. For digital goods or entitlements that are delivered, activated, downloaded, consumed, or materially devalued after activation, no-reason refund rights may be unavailable where permitted by law and confirmed at purchase.
3. Limited refund scenarios
We may approve a refund, in whole or part, only if one of the following is verified:
- Duplicate billing caused by a system error.
- Wrongful charge caused by a confirmed backend settlement defect.
- Payment completed but service/points were never delivered due to a platform-side failure that we cannot remediate within a reasonable time.
- An activation code was paid for but never issued, or was issued invalid due to a platform-side error and cannot be replaced.
- Other cases explicitly required by applicable consumer protection law.
4. Non-refundable scenarios
Refunds will generally not be provided for:
- Change of mind after purchase.
- Failure to use your plan or points.
- Unused daily points that reset at the next UTC 00:00 refresh.
- Expired normal points under plan/campaign expiry rules.
- AutoFigure-Edit credit cards or activation codes after successful redemption into your account.
- AutoFigure-Edit official-provider runs that were completed or validly settled according to backend task records.
- Dissatisfaction with model output quality when the service functioned as designed.
- Dissatisfaction with editability, visual style, prompt interpretation, model randomness, raster/vector grouping, PPT conversion details, or downstream publication suitability.
- Account restrictions caused by violations of Terms or abuse policy.
- Delays or failures caused by third-party providers, local network restrictions, or user environment issues outside our direct control.
- Costs, failures, overages, or quota issues from your own custom API / bring-your-own-key provider account.
- Payment-channel fees, bank fees, foreign-exchange differences, taxes, or other third-party charges unless the payment provider or applicable law requires otherwise.
5. AutoFigure-Edit credits and activation codes
- The official AutoFigure-Edit v1.5 workflow may use GPT-Image-2 for 4K image generation and Gemini-3.1-Pro-Preview for native PPT generation, subject to provider availability and product updates.
- Current DeepScientist-provider AutoFigure-Edit runs may consume 998 points per 4K run, unless a product dialog states a different price.
- At present, only AutoFigure-Edit credits are open for direct credit-card style purchase on the points page.
- AutoFigure-Edit credit cards are digital entitlements that grant points or package benefits after activation.
- If you provide your own API key or custom API endpoint, you are generally responsible for your own provider charges and do not need to buy AutoFigure-Edit platform credits for the model call itself, unless a product dialog states that a separate platform service fee applies.
- If payment succeeds but the activation code or points are not delivered, contact us for remediation. Our first remedy may be reissue, replacement, manual credit grant, or ledger correction rather than cash refund.
- Figure quality may vary by research field, paper content, prompt ambiguity, source-material quality, and third-party model behavior. This discretionary quality-refund path is available only for the first use after the first purchase. If you believe the generated result is genuinely unusable, you may request review within 24 hours only after completing both required steps: submit a refund request on the original purchase-link / payment website, and email resear.ai@gmail.com with the task URL, account email, and a 20-50 word note describing the concrete shortcomings (for example: layout, labels, editability, scientific accuracy, or visual expression). Repeat uses, later runs, or subsequent purchases are not eligible, and review does not start until both records are received.
- We cannot provide invoices for AutoFigure-Edit credit cards, activation codes, or other trial-operation digital entitlements unless a product page expressly states otherwise.
6. Task failure and settlement
- If an AutoFigure-Edit task fails before platform-side generation/conversion service is delivered, backend settlement rules may reduce the charge to zero or preserve points for retry.
- If only part of a multi-stage workflow completes, refund or credit handling depends on which stages were delivered, consumed, or retried according to backend records.
- If a completed task later proves unsuitable for your use case, that is normally a product-quality issue rather than a refundable billing failure.
- We may ask for task ID, workspace ID, screenshots, logs shown in the product, and payment reference to verify the issue.
7. Points-type clarification
- Daily points are temporary daily-cycle credits and are not refundable due to non-use.
- Normal points are persistent credits that may still have plan/campaign expiry constraints.
- Consumption order is daily first, then normal; refund review is based on backend settlement and ledger records.
8. Subscription cancellation
- You may cancel renewal at any time before the next billing cycle.
- Cancellation stops future charges but does not retroactively refund prior periods.
- Benefits already granted for the active cycle remain governed by the plan rules and Terms.
9. Charge disputes and chargebacks
Before opening a bank/card chargeback, contact us first so we can investigate and resolve quickly. Fraudulent, abusive, or unresolved chargebacks may lead to account suspension, reversal of credits, or restriction of paid features.
10. Request process
To request review of a potential refund case, complete both steps:
- Submit a refund request through the same original purchase-link / payment website where you paid.
- Email resear.ai@gmail.com with:
Email content should include:
- Account email
- Order/payment reference
- Timestamp and amount
- Purchased item or activation-code type
- Activation code, if any
- Task ID / workspace ID, if related to AutoFigure-Edit
- Clear issue description and supporting evidence
We typically respond within 7 business days after both the payment-site refund request and the email materials are received.
Invoice note: DeepScientist trial-operation digital services and AutoFigure-Edit credit cards currently do not include invoice issuance.
11. Regional availability notice
DeepScientist is not available to users located in Mainland China. If location, regulatory, or sanctions constraints apply, we may reject purchase, suspend service, or deny renewal.
