1. Scope
These terms apply to the DeepReviewer 2.0 feature of DeepScientist (the “Feature”). DeepReviewer 2.0 is designed to analyze user-submitted papers, PDFs, and research materials and generate structured review comments and revision suggestions.
These terms supplement the main DeepScientist Terms of Service. If there is any conflict, these feature-specific terms control for DeepReviewer 2.0 use.
2. Feature Description
DeepReviewer 2.0 may include, without limitation:
- AI-assisted analysis of manuscript structure, logic, methods, and experimental design;
- Automated extraction of potential issues and generation of review-comment drafts;
- Prioritized revision recommendations for author workflows.
3. No Professional or Official Review
- Outputs are not official peer-review decisions, legal advice, ethics approvals, or regulatory determinations.
- Human judgment remains required for publication, compliance, and institutional decisions.
- You must independently verify outputs before relying on them in high-impact contexts.
4. User Commitments and Prohibited Conduct
- You must ensure lawful rights and authorization for submitted content.
- You must not use the Feature for harassment, manipulation of review outcomes, unauthorized disclosure of unpublished work, or other harmful misuse.
- You must not present AI-generated review comments as human expert judgments in a misleading manner.
5. Output Quality and Liability Limitations
- Outputs may contain errors, omissions, bias, or conclusions inconsistent with field consensus.
- We do not guarantee suitability for any journal, conference, institution, funder, or regulator requirement.
- You remain solely responsible for decisions and outcomes based on Feature outputs.
6. Data Use, Confidentiality, and Research
You acknowledge and agree that:
- We may collect and process inputs, outputs, feedback signals, operation logs, and error logs to provide the Feature, improve quality, strengthen security, and support academic research;
- We will use commercially reasonable efforts to protect confidentiality, including access controls, data minimization, and de-identification practices where feasible;
- No system can guarantee absolute security, and you should avoid submitting unnecessary highly sensitive personal data.
7. Third-Party Dependencies
DeepReviewer 2.0 may rely on third-party AI models or infrastructure providers. Your use may therefore be subject to applicable third-party terms. We do not provide additional warranties for third-party availability or performance.
8. Compliance and Risk Controls
We may apply review, rate limits, rejection, or additional safeguards for suspicious or high-risk requests, and may retain audit records where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
9. Service Changes and Suspension
We may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue the Feature for product, legal, safety, or operational reasons, and may update associated pricing, quotas, or usage limits.
