1. Scope
These terms apply to the AutoFigure and AutoFigure-Edit features of DeepScientist (the “Feature”). AutoFigure is designed to parse user-provided text, PDF papers, reference images, and related research materials, and to generate scientific images, editable visual drafts, SVG/PPT-like documents, or native PPT outputs.
These terms supplement the main DeepScientist Terms of Service. If there is any conflict, these feature-specific terms control for AutoFigure use.
2. Feature Description
AutoFigure may include, without limitation:
- Parsing papers, abstracts, and method descriptions into structured information;
- Generating figure drafts, diagrams, process visuals, and visualization suggestions;
- Performing layout refinement, style enhancement, and iterative visual optimization.
- AutoFigure-Edit workflows that use reference images and prompt instructions to create revised figures or editable presentation documents.
3. AutoFigure-Edit v1.5 official and custom API modes
- The official AutoFigure-Edit v1.5 workflow may use platform-provided models and infrastructure. The current official algorithm is expected to use GPT-Image-2 for 4K / 16:9 image generation and Gemini-3.1-Pro-Preview for native PPT generation, subject to provider availability, rate limits, safety policy, product updates, and operational constraints.
- Model names, provider routing, resolution presets, timeout windows, and conversion steps may change as the product evolves.
- If you choose a custom API / bring-your-own-key mode, you are responsible for your own model-provider account, keys, quotas, costs, logs, data handling, and provider terms. Custom API mode may not require purchasing AutoFigure-Edit platform credits for the model call itself, unless the product dialog states otherwise.
- For official DeepScientist-provider runs, the product may require points or AutoFigure-Edit credit cards. Current cost estimates, such as 998 points per 4K run, are shown in the product and may be adjusted prospectively.
- At present, only AutoFigure-Edit credits are open for direct in-product credit purchase. Other point entitlements may still come from plans, campaigns, or admin grants.
- Free, Plus, Pro, and Max users may all access AutoFigure-Edit. Official-provider billing is controlled by current product dialogs and backend settlement rules.
4. User Responsibilities
- You must ensure that all uploaded or submitted content is lawfully obtained and properly authorized.
- You must not use AutoFigure in ways that infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other legal rights.
- You must review and validate all outputs before publication, submission, or operational use, especially in high-stakes academic or regulated contexts.
- You must not use the Feature to fabricate or falsify scientific visuals, conclusions, or evidence.
- You are responsible for verifying figure labels, numerical values, citations, image provenance, and any generated PPT/SVG structure before use.
5. Output Limitations and Disclaimer
- Outputs are generated by probabilistic AI systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or stylistically inappropriate.
- We do not guarantee that outputs are publication-ready, scientifically correct, or compliant with any journal, institution, or third-party policy.
- You are solely responsible for final decisions, publication content, and downstream consequences.
- Editable outputs may contain grouped objects, rasterized content, imperfect text extraction, font substitutions, layout drift, or conversion artifacts.
- 4K generation, native PPT conversion, and model-assisted editing depend on third-party model behavior and may vary across runs.
6. Pricing, credits, and refund relationship
- AutoFigure-Edit official-provider use may consume points or require paid credit cards. Product dialogs show expected cost before purchase or execution.
- If an AutoFigure-Edit task fails before the paid service is delivered or before backend settlement conditions are met, charge handling follows backend settlement records and the Refund Policy at
/refund. - For quality-review refund requests, this discretionary path is available only for the first use after the first purchase. Both records are required: submit a refund request on the same original purchase-link / payment website, and email the task URL, account email, and a 20-50 word note describing the concrete shortcomings to resear.ai@gmail.com. Repeat uses, later runs, or subsequent purchases are not eligible, and review does not start until both records are received.
- If a task completes according to backend records, dissatisfaction with the visual style, editability, model choice, model randomness, or downstream suitability is generally not refundable unless required by law or separately promised in writing.
- Purchased activation codes and credit cards are digital entitlements. Keep payment and activation-code records for support review.
- AutoFigure-Edit credit cards and activation-code purchases currently do not include invoice issuance unless a product page expressly states otherwise.
7. Risk Controls and Compliance Safeguards
To reduce misuse and legal risk, we may:
- Apply safety and policy checks to requests;
- Delay, restrict, or reject high-risk requests;
- Retain audit logs where reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, security response, and compliance.
8. Data Use, Confidentiality, and Research
You acknowledge and agree that:
- We may collect and process inputs, outputs, operation logs, and error logs related to AutoFigure to provide the Feature, improve quality, enhance safety, and support academic research;
- We will use commercially reasonable efforts to protect confidentiality, including access controls, minimization practices, and de-identification where appropriate;
- No internet-connected system can be guaranteed absolutely secure, and you should avoid uploading unnecessary highly sensitive data.
- When you use custom API mode, your inputs and outputs may also be processed by your selected third-party provider under that provider's policies.
9. Third-Party Dependencies
AutoFigure may rely on third-party AI models or infrastructure providers. Your use may therefore be subject to applicable third-party terms. We do not provide additional warranties for third-party availability or performance.
10. Availability and Changes
We may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue AutoFigure at any time for product, safety, legal, or operational reasons, and may update related pricing, quotas, or usage limits.
11. Enforcement and Termination
If we reasonably believe your use presents abuse, legal risk, or policy violations, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Feature.
